The Herpes simplex virus is also known as the Human Herpes virus and belongs to the family Herpesviridae. The deadly virus generally infects the human beings. The two species HS -1 and HSV-2 are considered to be more vital to the human beings, affecting those most. The Herpes virus causes various diseases such as- chickenpox, cold sores, various cancers, shingles etc. The encephalitis affects the human brain causes its inflammation as well. The HSV-1 and HSV-2 are known as the herpes virus 1 and 2 respectively. They are neuro-invasive and neurotropic in nature, affecting mostly the human brain, and hence called as Human Herpes virus 1 and Human Herpes virus 2. The genital problem is caused due to the HSV-2, whereas the disease like cold sores and fever may creep up due to the HSV-1 virus. The symptom of the virus infection can be observed from the mucous membrane of the lips, mouths and genitals. The viruses usually hide inside the human brain to complete their latent period or life cycle. With the continuous replication of the viruses, the condition of the healthy person changes dramatically and may lead to the serious brain damage at the end of the process of completion of Herpes virus cycle. However, it has been surveyed that the Herpes virus is contagious one so that the infected person should be treated with utmost care to prevent the virus infection to the other members of the family of the infected person. The virus may be transmitted by the close contact of the skins, in secretions from genitals as well as in saliva. The cold sore affected person may transmit directly the virus during coughing only. The infected mother transmits this Herpes virus to its new birth child. This may be lethal to the newborn infant. The child dies due to the inflammation in the brain due to the low resistance power of the child. The treatment can be done by considering the viral infection to a host body. The virus enters the human cell by making a pore through the skin cell and with the help of its outer covering capsid membrane. The glycoprotein also helps in the entry of the virus in to the host cell. However, the treatment for the Herpes virus is not invented yet as the virus is considered as the immortal and care should be taken to remove the virus from the host cell i.e. human being, as outside the host cell, the virus is inactive. The virus can also become active in the cell by certain diseases such as- physical and mental stress, gastric, injury or fatigue, cold, eczema, influenza, exposure to the bright sunlight etc.
