Nut free candy is some of the most sought after food that is ordered from e stores and websites on the Internet, and this is because allergies to peanuts and tree nuts collectively make up the most commonly suffered food allergy. There are millions of children and adults in the United States alone that have this allergy, and it is imperative that these consumers are able to shop with confidence for the products that are completely and 100 percent safe to eat.

There are more websites than ever that offer consumers delicious and healthy nut free candy without the worry and the high price that often goes along with specialty foods. Although the number of people who suffer from certain food allergies is growing, the food that is allergen free in general is still more expensive than their mainstream counterparts. The good news, though, is that the websites and companies that offer these foods have a large selection for consumers to choose from, and the websites are easy to navigate through and user friendly so that it is extremely easy to shop according to allergens.

The severity of reactions suffered by those with food allergies varies from one person to another. There are some people that may only notice a slight reaction when they consume nuts or other offending allergens like hives, rashes, or overall itching. However, there are many people who also suffer from severe, life threatening reactions. There have been many people who have died from ingesting just trace amounts of offending foods. Some people can go into something known as anaphylactic shock, where their body reacts so quickly and so violently to an allergen that it can prove to be fatal in minutes. This is why consuming only nut free candy is so important.

When the consumption of food is a matter of life and death, and a persons life and health depend on products that are truly nut free candy, there is no room for error. Often, the manufacturers who are dedicated to producing safe products to eat will ensure that there are no offending foods that are even handled in the same facility. If a candy bar says nut free on it, it should say on the label that it was also made in a facility that does not handle nuts. On the flip side, there are many products of all types that will print a warning on the product label stating that the product was manufactured with machines that handle nuts, wheat, or whatever the offending food may be.

Some of the nut free candy that consumers with allergies purchase most often is snacks like chocolate covered pretzels, hard candies and others. The oil that is used to make nut free candy must not be any kind of nut oil. Any website that you go to for these special foods should have displayed clearly the ingredients that are in the items, the allergens that they do NOT contain, the prices for the items, and a guarantee that the nut free candy has no trace of allergens in it.
